Hackers Attacked FoxNews Twitter and Claimed President Obama Dead

The big applepower over a FoxNews.com Twitter account on Monday and sent six false tweets stating that U.S. Barack obama have been shot dead, prompting a study from the Secret Service.

According to FoxNews.com, 'hackers sent out several malicious and false tweets claiming that President barack obama have been assassinated. FoxNews.com’s Twitter that feed for political news, FoxNewspolitics, was hacked early Monday morning.

In accordance with FoxNews.com, “hackers sent out several malicious and false tweets claiming that President barack obama was assassinated. Those reports were incorrect, of course, and also the president was spending the July 4 holiday with his family in the White House.”

The very first hacked tweet appeared around 2 a.m. and said: “@BarackObama has just passed. Obama is dead. A sad 4th of July, indeed. Barack obama is dead.”

The next, “@BarackObama has just passed. Nearly 45 minutes ago, he was shot twice within the lower pelvic area along with the neck; shooter unknown. Bled out.”

We were holding as well as: “#ObamaDead, it’s a sad Independence day. RT to aid the late president’s family, and RIP. The shooter will likely be found;

BREAKING NEWS: President @BarackObama assassinated, 2 gunshot wounds have proved too much. It’s an unfortunate 4th for #america. #obamadead RIP;

“We wish @joebiden the best of luck as our new President of the us. In that period of madness, there’s light at the end of tunnel.”

The tweets are actually taken out of the feed. Spokesman George Ogilvie asserted FoxNews.com alerted the U.S. Secret Service, which will investigate the hacking and do “appropriate follow up.”

Jeff Misenti, vice president and general manager of Fox News Digital, said FoxNews.com was utilizing Twitter to handle the specific situation as soon as possible.

“We will be requesting reveal investigation from Twitter about how exactly this occurred, and measures to avoid future unauthorized access into FoxNews.com accounts,” Misenti said.

The Twitter spokesman also asserted Fox News indicated its account had been compromised. FoxNews.com reported which it regrets any distress the false tweets might have created.

The media outlet, owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, said the incident was being checked. “The hacking has investigated, and FoxNews.com regrets any distress the false tweets could have created,” it said.

The White House declined to comment. The key Service, that's involved in protecting obama, said hello was looking at the incident. [via FoxNews and Reuters]
