World Cup Adding Beer Sales Up to 480 000 Liters


Jakarta - The World Cup event in 2010 which lasted for a month going forward is expected to boost sales volume menuman alcoholic beers until 3% or about 480 thousand liters of volume of monthly sales average of 15-16 million liters.

"Rough estimates, growth in beer sales during the World Cup event in its entirety in Indonesia could reach 3%," said spokesman Malt Beverage Industry Association of Indonesia (GIMMI), when contacted detikFinance Ipung Nimpuno, Sunday (06/13/2010).

Ipung said, the national beer sales volume during the first year about 1.8 million hectoliter or equivalent to 180 million liters. Average per month, up Ipung, about 15-16 million liters (including reduction in sales during the month of fasting).

"From the figures per month, sales volume growth of 3% beer can. If the projected figures for tourism in the region could grow 5% more. But the data does not exist," he said.
